Part-time faculty are eligible to checkout out a laptop for the semester they are teaching at MIAD. To acquire a laptop, part-time faculty must be teaching the current semester and get approval by their academic Chair. All laptops must be returned at the end of the semester. Exception: If you need to hold on to the laptop, you must be teaching the spring semester and also have Chair approval. All part-time faculty laptops must be returned before the summer break - no exceptions. They are needed for summer Outreach programing.
Part-time faculty in need of a MIAD laptop for teaching should begin by contacting their department Chair. Chairs can check on laptop availability and approve checkouts for one semester at a time.
Laptop kits consist of a laptop, an A/C adapter and a VGA adapter, and are checked out by an IT administrator. Kits are due back the week following the last day of classes of the semester, unless an extension has been approved by the faculty's Chair.
Laptop kits must be returned in the condition which they were checked out, as they may be reissued to another faculty or staff. Checkout laptops are the property of MIAD, and customizations or decorations (stickers, decals, skins, etc.) that may damage the laptop are not permitted.
If the laptop malfunctions or is damaged, DO NOT attempt physical repair. Contact Technology Services (414-847-3220; support.miad.edu; or support@miad.edu ). Any theft that occurs should be reported immediately to MIAD Security (414-847-3300).
