MIAD Equipment Checkout Policy
This policy applies to students, faculty and staff.
A current MIAD ID or equivalent school ID must be on file in our checkout system in order to checkout equipment such as laptops, projector, Cintiq pens, Cables, speakers, headphones, card readers and A/C adapters.
All MIAD IT equipment checked out to you must be:
- Properly cared for in transporting and returning
- Operated safely
- Protected from loss, theft and damage
- Returned with all accessories
- Returned on time
In the event that you experience a problem with the equipment you checked out, it is your responsibility to notify Technology Services immediately.
Failure to notify Technology Services within 24 hours about returning equipment that is late, damaged or stolen will lead to one or more of the following actions:
- Temporary disabling of your MIAD IT accounts including computer logins, Moodle, Gmail and PaperCut
- Revoking of your IT checkout system privileges
- Notifying Campus Security
Laptops may be checked out for 4 hours and are to be used for class periods and brief work periods ONLY. Failure to bring back a laptop after the 4 hour checkout time will lead to suspension of your IT checkout account until the laptop is returned to Technology Services.
Any laptop that is checked out to you and held overnight without the proper consent of full-time Technology Services staff will result in your IT checkout and TBM checkout privileges being revoked for the rest of the semester, at minimum. See Laptop Security Return Policy in this forum for more details.
