Students who obtained copies of Adobe elsewhere may run into issues when attempting to use or install additional Adobe products using their MIAD license.
The recommended approach is to ensure you have no previous installs of Adobe software when attempting to use Adobe using your MIAD credentials.
Symptoms:
Any of the below symptoms may apply.
- After installing Adobe Creative Cloud, not all of the apps are available
- Adobe apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) either won't open, or crash shortly after launch
Fix:
- Run Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner tool
- This will scan your Mac for residual components left over by previous, or buggy installations of any Adobe product
- Go to the link above and select your operating system type
- Run the cleaner tool
- The cleaner tool will scan your system and list any components that may be left over from previous installations; select Clean All (the Fix Host File) entry will be left behind
- Quit the cleaner tool
- Re-install Creative Cloud by accessing the Adobe link from Onelogin:
-
- If not visible, select More Shortcuts: Everything and search for Adobe
- Select Sign In on Adobe's site
- Enter your MIAD email address in the Email address box
- Click Continue
- Select Company or School Account
- Download Creative Cloud
- Once Creative Cloud is installed, you can subsequently download the rest of your Adobe apps from the Creative Cloud window
- If not visible, select More Shortcuts: Everything and search for Adobe
