WiscNet Core router upgrades | 4/22 8PM - 12AM

Starting at 8pm tonight WiscNet will perform operating system upgrades to all core Juniper routers to address a bug that creates significant packet loss under certain conditions.  This bug may be related to the wide-spread DDOS outage yesterday and is most likely responsible for packet loss seen today by some Milwaukee area members.

The new code has been installed in our test lab for several days and vetted by other R&E networks such as Internet2 without reported problems.   Members may experience an outage of up to 5 minutes though hopefully will see no loss of service at all during this upgrade.

Upgrade schedule:

Milwaukee ? 8pm
Green Bay ? 9pm
Madison/Chicago ? 10pm
Eau Claire/Minneapolis ? 11pm
