If you are currently forwarding your MIAD email to a Gmail account (or Hotmail, or similar account) some of the email coming from miad.edu addresses may get dropped in your Spam or Junk folder. This is happening with the bulk email sent out, like this message.
So please be warned: take a look through the Spam folder of your Gmail (or other) account if that is now the destination for all your MIAD email. You may miss important announcements (just like this one). This can be alleviated if you spend a few minutes training the spam filtering for your Gmail account.
One of the best Gmail how-to sites I've seen in a long time is <http://www.g04.com/misc/GmailTipsComplete.html>. If you're new to Gmail and are forwarding your MIAD email to that account take a look at that web site.
Email systems are always upgrading their security, so their policies may change without notice. If you are having your MIAD email forwarded to another account, it's your responsibility to check and "train" your spam catcher.
And as always, stop by Technical Services with any questions you might have.
(this message was originally sent by Steve White--but it probably ended up in your Spam folder!)
