Steps to Install Printing on student owned Macs:
1: Install The Canon Printer PPDs http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/office/b_w_imagerunner_copiers/imagerunner_2230_2230g_2270_2830_2870_3530_3025_3030_3035_3045_3530g_3570_4570/imagerunner_3035#DriversAndSoftware
2: Add the LDAP Directory in DIRECTORY UTILITY app ((Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Directory Utility)) The LDAP directory address is 172.20.5.1
3: Install PCClient
4: Turn on FAST USER SWITCHING, located in LOGIN OPTIONS of the ACCOUNTS System preference (Students may need to type in their password to make changes)
5: On a computer with WORKGROUP MANAGER, Log in and click on the computer group tab (Fourth tab in the left panel) Locate STUDENT OWNED COMPUTERS group and click on it. In the right panel click in the MEMBERS tab, There you should see a list of computers already added to this computer group, Click on the ellipsis (...) button and locate the name of the student's computer (often this is just their name but you may need to double check their computer's name in the SHARING system preference if they have a custome name) Once you find the computers name click on it and then the ADD button. Once the student's computer shows up in the computer list click on the save button.
After the above steps the students should be able to switch to their school network accounts and log in, There they will see the Two School canon printers installed.
They Will not be able to print from their local accounts and will have to switch to the network account each time they are to print.
